Ms. Halsey has 24 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, 29 years experience as a Certified Diabetes Educator, and nine years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in a hospital setting. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Wake Forest University.
After completing her Masters in nursing degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, she worked as a Clinical Specialist in Diabetes at St. Mary's Hospital. She returned to UTK and completed a Masters Degree in the Nurse Practitioner program and she is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
She has served as Past President, Knox County Chapter, American Diabetes Association, Medical Program Lecturer for Pharmaceutical Companies, Guest Lecturer, UT Knoxville College of Nursing, Student Preceptor in Family Nurse Practitioner Program UT Knoxville College of Nursing, and she had an article published in Diabetes Educator
