Tom Doty, MD
F.A.C.E.

Dr. Doty was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Brentwood Academy, was an Eagle Scout, and attended the World Jamboree in Norway. He graduated from the University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee, and the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in Memphis. Internship, Residency, and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine were completed in Charleston, South Carolina. He stayed in Charleston for a three year Endocrinology Fellowship. Research interests there focused on the insulin receptor.

 

Dr. Doty is a member of the American Medical Association, American Diabetes Association, Endocrine Society, and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He is on the Active Staff of Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and University Medical Center.

 

Dr. Doty is married and has three children, Walt, Beth, and John. The family has restored an older home in Knoxville, in which they now live. The Dotys enjoy outdoor sports, camping, hiking, cooking, and gardening, and are active in church work.
